Meet Mrs. Fulmer

I am excited to share that I am your new 4th grade teacher at McNeal Elementary School. My name is Ashlie Fulmer and I am a product of Manatee County Schools and a graduate of the University of South Florida. I have eight years of teaching experience, a Masters in Educational Leadership, and my National Boards Certification in Literacy. I cannot wait for the 2014-2015 school year to begin, and to invest in the lives of your children.

I taught at Wakeland IB Elementary for six years in their primary grades. For the last two years, I have taught 6th grade Language Arts at Haile Middle School. I desire to build strong relationships with students and parents and to foster a love of learning, while facilitating meaningful learning opportunities.
I challenge myself to be an innovated teacher by utilizing assessment to drive instruction, and conducting authentic teaching strategies, with ongoing differentiation. I understand the critical need of interventions and remedial instruction. Additionally, to meet the needs of gifted learners, I am capable of providing learning engagements to peak their interest and challenge them to be critical thinkers, explorers, and discovers. My instructional model includes Reading and Writing Workshops, with the use of inquiry, technology integration, and hands-on learning.
I look forward to meeting each of you. Please feel free to email me, as communication is a vital part of our success this year.

I am the proud mother of two adorable little boys, Easton and Preston. My husband and I have been married for seven years. My husband is a CPA and loves Volkswagen cars. My hobbies include photography, cooking, going to the beach and traveling. I have been skydiving, snorkeling in the Caribbean, hiking in Ethiopia, working in orphanages in Kenya and Uganda, and site seeing in London and Paris.
